About Phil Bagge
I am a Teacher at Abbotswood
School and for the past five years I have managed ICT in the school. When I
took over the network we had 1 server and 30 computers in the school including
office machines. As of now we have 5 servers and 150 computers.
Educational Accomplishments
- Revised planning on a yearly
basis to take account of changing pupil and staff skill levels
- Supervised NOF training
and was employed by King Alfred's College as a NOF trainer
- Carried out lots of staff
training outside of the NOF training
- Set up 12 training sessions
for Classroom assistants and Learning support assistants
- Planned network layouts
for 5 other schools all of which have been implemented
- Regularly provide advice
for 4 other schools
- Ran Web Publishing Training
session for Applemore College teachers
- I now write for learning
curve, PC Worlds education magazine as one of their panel of experts
- Set up a joint animation
project with the University of Southampton
- We know have four school
blogs which allow pupils and staff to contribute directly to the school website.
- I am now seconded to the
University of Southampton for a day and a half per week to help teach ICT
to PGCE students.
- Our latest OFSTED
(Dec 2003) saw ICT being judged as very good and the pupil progress
as above the national average
- I set up a website to share

- I am in the process of

Hardware & Software
Installation In the past three years I have (Supervised=Oversaw someone

of the Internet and E-mail onto the network
- Installed 8 new RM machines
in Year 5
- Installed NT4 Backup server
- Installed 30 Teacher computers
onto the network many from sponsorship
- Installed Micro Librarian
software
- Installed new Office network,
one NT4 Server and 6 NT4 Workstations
- Installed trust relationship
between Office and Curricular networks
- Supervised RM upgrade from
Connect 2.2 to Connect 2.4
- Installed NT4 upgrade to
Win2000 to take advantage of Win XP laptops on the network
- Installed 60 new RM Workstations
to bring the computer to pupil ratio to 1-7
- Installed Win 2000 server
and Winsuite software at Calmore Infants School.
- Installed new Win 2000
domain with XP clients taking advantage of group policy tools
- Installed new Win 2000
office domain and rebuilt clients as XP pro
- Installed SIMS on the office
network
- Installed new 2003 server
for the office network at Abbotswood School
- Installed new ICT suite
at Lydlynch Infants School
- Installed Solicitors practise
network with Win 2003 server and XP clients
